Our spacious hunting lodge has 6 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen, large utility room with a washer and dryer, on demand hot water, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. The lodge comfortably accommodates groups of 10 to 14 hunters and gives everyone plenty of room to relax after a day in the field.

You will need the appropriate South Dakota small game hunting license and a South Dakota Habitat Stamp. Hunter safety certification is not required for adult hunters. We recommend purchasing your license and Habitat Stamp before arriving and checking current South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks regulationsfor any updates. https://gfp.sd.gov/purchase/

We recommend semi-automatic 12-gauge shotguns. Lead shot is allowed, and we typically recommend No. 4 to No. 6 shot. Plugs are not required (no magazine limit).

Yes. We require every hunter to wear at least one visible piece of blaze orange, such as a hat, vest, or jacket. This helps keep everyone safe and easily visible while hunting. Safety Glasses or sunglasses are highly recommended.

There is not a bad time to hunting in South Dakota Early season brings milder weather and plenty of action, while later in the season can bring snow, colder conditions, and birds that start to bunch up. Each part of the season offers its own unique experience!

Our season runs from the third Saturday in October through January 31.

We hunt exclusively on private, well managed hunting ground featuring a variety of classic South Dakota pheasant habitat, including mature tree belts, food plots, native grass, and other quality cover that holds birds throughout the season.

Every hunter should bring a shotgun, plenty of ammunition, blaze orange, good hiking boots, and eye and ear protection if desired. Feel free to contact us before your hunt for an updated local weather report so you can pack for the conditions.

Yes, but safety is our number one priority. Every hunter needs tounderstand basic firearm safety, field etiquette, and our rules before the hunt begins. We are always happy to answer questions and clarify anything ahead of time, so everyone knows what to expect.Hunters ages 16 to 17 need the appropriate youth small game license but are not required to have hunter safety certification. Youth hunting licenses do not require a South Dakota Habitat StampBecause we often hunt in larger groups, please contact us ahead of time before planning to have a younger hunter participate with a firearm. Kids are welcome to come along and experience the hunt, but shooting participation will depend on age, experience, safety, and the makeup of your group.

Everyone loads up on the bus and heads out to the field, with most rides taking about 5 to 20 minutes. Hunting begins at 10:00 a.m., and most hunts last a few hours depending on the conditions, bird movement, and how the day unfolds. We provide a field lunch during the hunt. Afterward, we head back to the lodge, take a group photo if you would like, clean and package your birds, and then the rest of the day is yours to relax, hang out, and enjoy the lodge.

South Dakota weather can change quickly, but we do our best to hunt in almost all conditions. Safety always comes first, and we will adjust our plan based on the weather, field conditions, and what gives the group the best opportunity for a good hunt. No matter the conditions, we will give it our best effort and make the day work as well as we can.
